In 2016 Dr. Judy Goodell received the Award for Outstanding Contribution to School-Based Family Counseling for her participation in the Yucatan Project. The Yucatan Project was a SBFC intervention carried out in the town of Tekit in Mexico. School dropouts and their families participated in a community supported educational enrichment program which resulted in all the adolescents graduating from high school and most going on to university.
